Iranian Drone Attack Injures Young Girl and Causes Significant Damage in Bahrain
Drone Strike in Bahrain Causes Minor Injuries and Widespread Damage
An Iranian drone strike on Bahrain on Thursday resulted in minor injuries to an 11-year-old girl and caused widespread property damage across the capital, Manama, and the Hamad Town area. The incident occurred after Bahraini air defense systems successfully intercepted multiple incoming drones, but falling debris from the interceptions struck residential zones.
According to the Ministry of Interior, the young girl was treated at the scene for minor injuries and did not require hospital admission. However, the aftermath left several neighborhoods dealing with the consequences of the attack. Firefighters were deployed to battle blazes that erupted in multiple homes, while streets were reported to be littered with debris from the downed aircraft.
The Revolutionary Guards of Iran had earlier claimed responsibility for launching the strikes, stating their targets included US airbases located in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan. While Bahrain's defense systems prevented the drones from hitting their intended military objectives, the resulting collisions in the atmosphere led to collateral damage in civilian areas.
Civil Defence teams and the National Ambulance Service responded rapidly to the affected locations in Manama and Hamad Town to extinguish fires and assist residents. Authorities confirmed that all necessary measures were taken to secure the areas and ensure public safety following the interception of the aerial threats.
