Parents Can Now Apply for Their Child's Birth Certificate Online
Bahrain introduces online birth certificate services to make registration and replacements easier for families across the Kingdom.
Parents across Bahrain can now apply for their child’s birth certificate online through the national portal bahrain.bh, offering a more convenient and efficient way to complete this essential process. The service was launched as part of the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to digitise government services and enhance user experience for citizens and residents.
This new digital option allows parents to apply for birth certificates for children born both inside and outside the Kingdom, as well as request replacement certificates in cases of loss or damage, all without having to visit government offices in person.
The online service is part of Bahrain’s broader digital transformation initiatives, aimed at streamlining essential procedures and reducing bureaucratic hurdles for families, especially during the busy and sensitive period following a newborn’s arrival.
Once registered, parents can complete all necessary steps for obtaining a birth certificate through the portal, saving time and effort that would otherwise be spent in queues or at service centres. The development aligns with similar e-government services that have seen rapid adoption in recent years.
Healthcare facilities across the Kingdom continue to report births to the relevant authorities, with online issuance now enabling faster and more accessible documentation for newborns and those needing replacements.
By moving this key service online, Bahrain reinforces its commitment to making everyday procedures more user-friendly and efficient for all residents.
