Moroccan Contractor Killed in Iranian Missile Strike on UAE-Bahrain Joint Operation; Five Others Injured

A civilian contractor working for the UAE Armed Forces has been killed in an Iranian missile attack in Bahrain, according to an announcement from the UAE Ministry of Defence. The deceased was identified as a Moroccan national who was serving as a civilian contractor during what the ministry described as a "routine mission."

The attack also left five Ministry of Defence personnel injured. In an official statement, the ministry extended its deepest condolences to the contractor's family and expressed wishes for a speedy recovery for those wounded in the incident.

This incident marks another escalation in regional tensions. According to the UAE Ministry of Defence, the country and Bahrain have been intercepting missiles and drones launched by Iran since February 28, following the commencement of US and Israeli strikes against Tehran.

On Tuesday alone, UAE air defense systems reportedly engaged five ballistic missiles and 17 drones launched from Iranian territory.

Cumulative figures released by the ministry indicate that since the attacks on the UAE began, the country's air defenses have intercepted 357 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,806 drones.

The incident highlights the ongoing security challenges in the Gulf region and the involvement of foreign contractors in joint defense operations between allied nations. International observers continue to monitor the situation as diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions remain ongoing.
