Bahrain Extends Flight Suspension Amid Regional Tensions

Flight operations in Bahrain remain suspended as airspace restrictions continue amid regional security concerns. Gulf Air announced on Friday that it has extended the suspension of its flights, keeping services on hold until further notice.

“Flights remain temporarily suspended as closure of Bahrain airspace continues,” Gulf Air said in an official statement, confirming that aviation activities will not resume until authorities determine that it is safe to do so.

The airline added that the next operational update will be issued on Saturday, indicating that the suspension is expected to continue unless the Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs confirms the safe reopening of the country’s airspace.

The ongoing closure has affected flights operating through Bahrain International Airport, with travellers advised to stay in contact with their airlines for rebooking and schedule updates.

Authorities have stressed that the decision to maintain the suspension is a precautionary measure aimed at ensuring passenger and aviation safety amid rising regional tensions.

Regional airspace restrictions have already caused widespread travel disruption across the Gulf, as aviation operators prioritise safety while monitoring geopolitical developments. Once conditions stabilise, officials expect a coordinated resumption of services to minimise passenger inconvenience.

For now, passengers are urged to follow official announcements as Bahrain’s aviation authorities continue assessing the situation and planning for a safe return to normal operations.
