Bahrain International Airports Partially Resumes Operations With 8 Daily Flights

Bahrain International Airport has begun the gradual resumption of flight operations within the Kingdom's airspace, marking the first steps toward normalizing air travel connectivity after a period of suspension.

On Sunday, the airport recorded a total of eight flights, comprising five departures and three arrivals. All initial services were operated by the national carrier, Gulf Air, connecting Bahrain to key destinations including Lahore, Dubai, Jeddah, Muscat, and Dhaka. Arrivals on the first day of operations included flights from London, Dubai, and Jeddah.

The recovery effort expanded on Monday as regional low-cost carriers joined the schedule. Air Arabia resumed services to Sharjah, while flydubai restored flights to Dubai—one of the busiest routes linking Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates. This addition signals a broader effort to reconnect the Kingdom with major regional hubs.

Today, the schedule remains steady with eight departures planned, alongside multiple incoming flights from major cities such as London, Istanbul, and Doha. While the volume of traffic is still below pre-suspension levels, the airport authority has confirmed that operations will continue to ramp up gradually in the coming days.

Airport officials have issued a strong advisory for travelers to exercise caution and verify their itineraries. "Passengers are urged to stay updated with their respective airlines for the latest flight information," the airport statement read, emphasizing that schedules remain fluid as the recovery process unfolds.

As connectivity improves, the aviation sector in Bahrain expects a steady increase in flight frequency, aiming to fully restore its role as a key transit hub in the Gulf region.
