Kannada Sangha Bahrain made history by creating the largest mosaic of Bahrain entirely from rice grains, earning official recognition from the Golden Book of World Records. The achievement was a highlight of the Bahrain National Day celebrations, blending artistry with national pride.
The mosaic, displayed at the Kannada Sangha Auditorium, measured 18 metres in length and 8 metres in width, capturing the Kingdom’s outline with stunning precision. Volunteers used 350 kg of rice, carefully colored in red, white, and blue to depict islands and regions. From a distance, it created a unified tribute to Bahrain; up close, each grain reflected meticulous effort, showcasing both creativity and community dedication.
Mr. Ajith Bangera, President of Kannada Sangha Bahrain, emphasized the initiative’s goal of celebrating National Day uniquely while ensuring sustainability, as all rice grains used were reusable. He also expressed gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and HRH Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, highlighting the expatriate community’s pride in contributing to Bahrain’s celebrations.
The event drew widespread public participation and media attention, reinforcing Bahrain’s spirit of unity, cultural harmony, and national pride. The world record was officially certified by Dr. Manish Kumar Vishnoei, Asia Head of GBWR, who praised the mosaic as “extremely creative and one of the most beautiful records I have seen,” noting the remarkable feat achieved in such a short timeframe.
This achievement marks a historic milestone for Bahrain and adds a unique global accolade to the Kingdom’s National Day festivities.
