For the Chicken

1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
2 cups basmati rice
2 large onions, thinly sliced
3 tomatoes, chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons Bahraini spice blend (cinnamon, cardamom, cloves)
1 teaspoon ground turmeric
Salt and pepper to taste
3 tablespoons vegetable oil

For the Rice

2 cups basmati rice
4 cups chicken broth
1 cinnamon stick
4 cardamom pods
4 cloves
2 bay leaves
Salt to taste

    In a large pot, heat vegetable oil and sauté sliced onions until golden brown. Add minced garlic and Bahraini spice blend. Stir until fragrant.
  2. Add Chicken

    Add chicken pieces to the pot, season with turmeric, salt, and pepper. Cook until the chicken is browned on all sides.
  3. Incorporate Tomatoes

    Add chopped tomatoes to the pot and cook until they break down, creating a flavorful base.
  4. Simmer Chicken

    Pour enough water to cover the chicken, cover the pot, and let it simmer until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
