Some cultures value silence and the slow response, others value the conversation and quick response. Silence can exhibit listening, thinking, and social harmony. A knowledge of these cultural differences enables communication across borders and a recognition that there is no need for limitless words nor constant verbal exchange to make meaningful connections.
