Ahtisa Manalo Named Miss Universe Philippines 2025

Pageant veteran Ahtisa Manalo of Quezon Province has officially been crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2025. She will represent the country in the 74th Miss Universe pageant happening in Thailand this November.

Manalo claimed the top title after standing out among 65 candidates during the finals held on Friday, May 2, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.

A Comeback Win After Several Tries

This isn’t Manalo’s first time on the national stage. She was a heavy favorite in last year’s MUPH pageant, where she finished as second runner-up. She later competed in the first Miss Cosmo pageant and landed a Top 10 spot.

Her pageant journey goes way back—she was part of the Binibining Pilipinas 2018 batch led by Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray. That same year, she represented the Philippines at Miss International and finished first runner-up.

Another “Manalo” Takes the Torch

Interestingly, Manalo follows in the footsteps of another Manalo—Chelsea Manalo—who was her predecessor and the first-ever Miss Universe Asia, crowned in Mexico in 2024.

With this latest win, Ahtisa becomes the sixth titleholder under the Miss Universe Philippines organization, now led by former Miss Universe 2013 third runner-up Ariella Arida.

The Philippines Remains a Pageant Powerhouse

The Philippines has a strong history in Miss Universe, with consistent placements in recent years. The country has produced four Miss Universe winners so far: Gloria Diaz (1969), Margie Moran (1973), Pia Wurtzbach (2015), and Catriona Gray (2018).
