A proactive move to streamline home ownership, allowing citizens to finalize financing without visiting service centers or submitting new applications.

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning in Bahrain has introduced a new regulatory measure to automatically renew expired housing finance eligibility certificates for an additional three months. This decision specifically targets all certificates that expired during March and April of this year, eliminating the need for beneficiaries to take any manual action or visit service centers to secure the extension.

The Ministry stated that this initiative is designed to enhance flexibility and simplify administrative procedures, enabling citizens to complete the necessary requirements for obtaining housing finance more easily, particularly under current exceptional circumstances. By ensuring continuity in application processing, the measure allows citizens to access housing finance services seamlessly even after their original certificates have lapsed.

The automatic renewal applies to several key financing programs, including "Tas'heel" across all its categories, "Tas'heel Plus," and both variants of the "Mazaya" program. These initiatives represent the Ministry's primary solutions for supporting citizens in achieving home ownership through accessible and subsidized financing options.

According to the Ministry, extending the validity of these certificates provides beneficiaries with crucial additional time to finalize essential procedures, such as selecting suitable housing units or meeting specific lender requirements. This extension is expected to improve overall efficiency and significantly reduce the administrative hurdles often faced by applicants during the home-buying process.

The Ministry highlighted that this initiative underscores the government's ongoing commitment to simplifying public services, adopting digital solutions, and implementing proactive measures that prioritize citizen needs. It reaffirmed its dedication to continuously reviewing and updating policies to align with best practices and adapt to evolving national circumstances.
