The Undersecretary also shared that the new e-passport contains modern security technologies that are being used for the first time. The e-passport contains an electronic chip that improves Bahrain's global ranking and allows Bahraini travellers to easily obtain various visas from around the world.

A representative of HID Colin Howell explained how the data page for the e-passport contains seven layers, which comprise the highest security standards ever.

Colin Howell said about the passport's design "There are important symbols in Bahrain’s heritage represented by horses and falcons, and from the sea the beautiful fisker fish, in addition to the stars, the most important of which is the star of Suhail...The rich history of Bahrain has been merged with the modern, with consideration of many historical and cultural stations."
