The Bahrain International Airport (BIA) won two awards at the World Airport Awards, which were held at the 2023 Passenger Terminal EXPO in Amsterdam.

BIA won an award for World's Best Airport for Baggage Delivery and a second one for Best Airport Staff in the Middle East.
Gulf Air Group Chairman Zayed R. Al Zayani and Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) Chief Executive Officer Mohamed Yousif Al Binfalah accepted the awards on the airport's behalf at the presentation ceremony.
Al Zayani said "We are honored to be recognized for the quality of our services and our commitment to ensuring that all passengers enjoy a hassle-free travel experience...Awards such as these demonstrate the efficacy of our aviation strategy and reinforce our position as a leading regional and global aviation hub."
The World Airport Awards started operating in 2000 and are independent. They are the most prestigious awards held for the airport industry, voted for by customers in the largest annual global airport customer satisfaction survey.
