Bahrain Wins Two Gold Medals at the West Asian Championships in Qatar

Two female athletes from Bahrain won gold medals on the first day of the event.

Bahrain won two gold medals on Wednesday, April 26th at the West Asian Athletics Championships 2023 in Doha, Qatar.

Bahrain's athlete Noora Salem Jasim won a gold medal in the women's shot put. Bontu Rebitu, another athlete from Bahrain, came first place in the women's 10,000m race.

In the women's shot put, Jasim won first place with the best throw of 15.05m. In the women's 10,000m race, Rebitu beat other participants in the record time of 34m 43.84s.

The two athletes were the only ones from the Bahrain team participating on Wednesday. Bahrain has an eight-athlete team participating in the West Asian Athletics Championships in Qatar. 

The Bahrain team is among 12 other national teams that are participating in this sports event.
