His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander, officially introduced the AH1-Z Cobra attack helicopters into the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) as part of the Bahrain Shield project. The ceremony coincided with the BDF's 56th anniversary and was graced by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Prime Minister.

Bahrain Shield Project Overview

The Bahrain Shield project, initiated in 2018 under the guidance of HRH the Crown Prince, enhances the BDF's readiness to operate in various conditions. The project's centerpiece, the AH1-Z Cobra helicopters, represent a significant advancement for the RBAF, positioning Bahrain as a leading operator of this advanced aircraft outside the United States.
