Protestors in Venice force Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez to relocate their wedding party amid backlash over tax concerns and local disruption threats.

According to some media reports, Amazon's founder, Jeff Bezos, was forced to move his wedding party from Venice after locals carried out intense protests against it.

Bezos is about to marry former news anchor, Lauren Sanchez, in a lavish wedding at an Italian destination, which will feature a three-day celebration and a star-studded guest list of 200 people.

However, Venetians have not been very welcoming towards the engaged couple. A banner was put up in St. Mark Square, which read, "If you can rent Venice for your wedding, you can pay more tax".

Various posters and stickers have been put up on buildings across the city, which read, "No space for Bezos".

The couple have cancelled a party, which they were about to host in the 16th-century hall in the center of Venice. They have moved it to a more secure location, according to The Times.

The couple was forced to do so after protestors threatened to stop guests arriving by filling the canals with inflatable crocodiles, according to the British newspaper.

Page Six reported that Bezos has booked several venues across a range of dates to keep his options open, citing a Venetian insider.
