For more than two thousand years, looters worked their way through the Etruscan necropolis at San Giuliano, breaking into tomb after tomb until almost nothing was left undisturbed. Then, in back-to-back digging seasons, archaeologists from Baylor University found two chambers the tombaroli never reached.
