Bahrain’s Public Prosecution has formally referred two men to stand trial on charges of planned murder in connection with the fatal stabbing of an Asian man, authorities confirmed.
The Northern Governorate Prosecutor announced on February 3 that the investigation into the deliberate killing is now complete and that both suspects, of the same nationality as the victim, will face the High Criminal Court on February 9, 2026.
The case was launched after the victim’s body was discovered with multiple stab wounds in an alley within the Al-Budaiya area. Police and prosecution investigators responded promptly to the scene, with a prosecutor overseeing evidence collection, body examination, and witness interviews. Security camera footage reportedly played a key role in linking the suspects to the crime.
Authorities apprehended the two men as they attempted to flee the country, recovering the weapons believed to have been used in the attack. During questioning, the suspects admitted to committing the murder, stating it was premeditated and motivated by a long-standing personal dispute dating back more than a decade in their home country. They allegedly tracked the victim for two months before ambushing him near his residence.
Forensic examinations confirmed that the victim’s death resulted from the stab and cut wounds consistent with the seized weapons, with blood and cellular material matching the victim found on the suspects’ clothing and weapons.
Following the completion of investigative procedures, the Public Prosecution ordered that both suspects remain in custody pending the upcoming trial.
