Camping Season Begins in Bahrain on This Date

The eagerly awaited camping season in the Kingdom of Bahrain is set to kick off on 5 December 2025, running through 25 March 2026 in the southern desert regions. This annual tradition—often known locally as Mawsim Al-Barr—invites families and friends to gather under the stars for barbecues, tents, stargazing and desert-adventures across the country’s open landscapes.

The official announcement came from the Southern Governorate, which reaffirmed the dates and invited interested campers to register early via the “Khayyam” initiative on the Governorate’s mobile app. Registration is open from 20–30 November 2025.

As part of the announcement, local authorities emphasised adherence to the approved camping map and safety guidelines, citing the importance of a secure environment for all visitors.

In the statement, H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa thanked H.M. King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and H.R.H. Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa for their support in ensuring the season runs smoothly, and extended gratitude to HH Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for helping provide key services that enhance safety and enjoyment. 

Beyond the dates and registrations, the initiative is designed to promote outdoor tourism, local socialising and family-friendly experiences in Bahrain’s desert terrain. Participants are reminded to respect regulations, register properly, use the designated camping zones and remain mindful of environmental impact.
