Gulf Air Expands Temporary Dammam Network With 4 New South Asian Destinations
Bahrain's flag carrier adds Lahore, Islamabad, Kochi, and Dhaka to its King Fahd International Airport hub as regional airspace closures persist.

Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has significantly expanded its temporary operational hub at King Fahd International Airport (DMM) in Saudi Arabia, announcing the addition of four new South Asian destinations: Lahore (LHE), Islamabad (ISB), Kochi (COK), and Dhaka (DAC).
The expansion comes as the airline continues to reroute operations due to the temporary closure of Bahrain's airspace and that of several neighboring countries. These new routes join Gulf Air's existing temporary network from Dammam, which already serves major global hubs including London Heathrow, Paris, Frankfurt, Istanbul, Bangkok, and Nairobi, alongside regional connections to Cairo, Mumbai, Chennai, and Manila.
Recognizing the logistical challenges posed by the shift in operations, Gulf Air has implemented comprehensive support measures for travelers. The airline will provide dedicated ground transportation services between the Kingdom of Bahrain and King Fahd International Airport for all passengers holding confirmed bookings on these diverted flights.
Furthermore, to facilitate smoother transit, Gulf Air is offering Saudi Arabia transit visa assistance exclusively for passengers traveling to and from Bahrain who utilize the airline's organized ground transportation. However, the airline clarified that passengers whose final destination is within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia must still secure a valid visa independently.
