Over 30 People Injured in Sitra After Drone Attack

At least 32 people were injured after an Iranian drone attack struck a residential area in Sitra, according to a statement released by Bahrain National Communication Centre.

Authorities said the drones targeted civilian residential neighbourhoods located close to energy infrastructure in the area. The attack occurred in the early hours of the morning and caused extensive damage to several homes.

Emergency services responded quickly to the scene, transporting dozens of injured residents to nearby hospitals. Officials confirmed that all of the victims are Bahrain nationals.

Among the 32 people injured, four are reported to be in serious condition. Several children were among those hurt in the strike and required urgent medical treatment, including emergency surgeries.

A 17-year-old girl sustained severe trauma to her head and eyes, while two young boys aged seven and eight suffered serious leg injuries and were rushed to the operating room. Authorities also confirmed that the youngest victim of the attack is a two-month-old infant.

The Bahrain National Communication Centre said the incident caused significant structural damage to residential properties in the affected neighbourhood, highlighting the risks posed to civilians living near critical infrastructure.

Investigations into the attack are ongoing, and officials are continuing to monitor the condition of the injured as medical teams work to treat those affected.
