Residents and citizens can now update the electronic chip data on their national ID cards at a newly launched self-service kiosk in Tubli, as part of Bahrain’s expanding digital government services, authorities confirmed this week.

The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) has installed the self-service eKiosk at the Capital Municipality Council in Tubli, offering a convenient way to update key information stored on the chip, such as residential address details, and view current data using the integrated ID card reader.

The kiosk also allows users to register for the Government Notifications Service, enabling them to receive official alerts electronically by SMS or email, with the option to view the messages directly through the platform.

Officials said the initiative reflects ongoing efforts to support Bahrain’s digital transformation strategy by making essential government services more accessible, faster and simpler to complete without the need for visits to traditional service counters.

Self-service eKiosks are part of a broader network of digital access points available across the Kingdom. Other locations offering similar services include the iGA headquarters in Isa Town, the branch at Seef Mall in Muharraq, the Labour Market Regulatory Authority, the Bahrain Mall post office, the General Directorate of Traffic in Wadi Al Sail, and the Social Insurance Organisation.

By bringing digital conveniences closer to residents in Tubli and beyond, Bahrain continues to roll out practical applications of its e-government vision, helping individuals manage identity card updates and interact with public services on their terms.
