The announcement came through an official circular issued by Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. According to the circular, all ministries, government departments, agencies, and public institutions in the Kingdom will be closed on Saturday and Sunday, July 5 and 6.

Since Saturday is already part of Bahrain’s official weekend (Friday-Saturday), the holiday will be compensated with an additional day off on Monday, July 7, allowing employees to enjoy an extended break.

This means that government offices and public institutions across the Kingdom will resume work on Tuesday, July 8. The Ashura holiday is an important occasion in Bahrain, observed by many with prayers, processions, and family gatherings.

Residents can now plan for the extra time off, whether for religious observance, travel, or simply some much-needed rest.
