Two people are being prosecuted by the Bahraini Power and Water Authority (EWA) for allegedly faking electricity meter readings.

After having concerns about a few entries, the EWA initiated investigations, which resulted in the discovery of fraud. The first defendant is the owner of the company that the EWA recruited to record readings.
The second defendant, who was responsible for the charge of supervising the work that other colleagues performed, is accused of fabricating the readings.
