Bahrain Wins Golden Lion at Venice Architecture Biennale

Bahrain's national pavilion won the prestigious Golden Lion, which is the highest honor at the Venice Architecture Biennale.
The exhibition is on display at the pavilion was 'Heatwave', which shows how architecture responds to rising temperatures.
The President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, has commissioned the architectural masterpiece and architect Andrea Faraguna curated it.
After the biennale concludes in November, there are plans to relocate 'Heatwave' and one of the proposed sites is Compagnia della Vela on the island of San Giorgio, where it will be a public cooling structure for visitors and locals.
Other Gulf nations that participated in the Venice Architecture Biennale included the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman.
