Bahraini digital creator Omar Farooq has been awarded the prestigious Medal of National Action by His Highness King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, recognising his significant contributions to media, culture, and community engagement in the Kingdom.

The accolade was presented during Bahrain’s National Day celebrations at Al Sakhir Palace, underscoring Farooq’s role as one of the country’s most influential creative voices. 

Farooq has established himself as a leading content creator across the Arab world, gaining widespread acclaim for his engaging and impactful storytelling on YouTube and social media. His video series “Omar Tries” blends cultural exploration, social insight, and humanitarian themes, attracting millions of viewers and fostering empathy and understanding. Through this work, Farooq has tackled diverse experiences—from travel and cultural immersion to social experiments that highlight human stories—making complex subjects accessible and meaningful for his audience. 

Beyond his digital influence, Farooq’s reach is measurable by his impressive online presence: his YouTube channel has surpassed 1.2 billion views, with millions of subscribers and followers across platforms, placing him among the region’s most watched creators. His creative impact was recognised internationally when he was named in Forbes Middle East’s “30 Under 30” list in 2023, celebrating his achievements in entertainment and media. 

In addition to global recognition, Farooq has been honoured regionally, including nominations for awards such as TikTok’s Best Content Creator in the Middle East, where he was the only Bahraini on the list—highlighting his role as a trailblazer in digital media.
