This move comes amid escalating tensions in the region, with Israel and Iran entering their fourth consecutive day of exchanging strikes. Following Israeli attacks on Iranian sites last Friday, Iran responded with retaliatory strikes—raising concerns across the Gulf.

The Civil Defence Directorate confirmed that the siren system covers the entire Kingdom and that the purpose of the test is to assess both its operational efficiency and public responsiveness.

Bahrain’s Civil Emergency Measures in Place

At a weekly Cabinet meeting chaired by Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, officials reviewed the country’s civil emergency readiness.

Among the steps taken:

  • 33 emergency shelters have been prepared with activation protocols in place.
  • The National Civil Emergency Management Centre has been fully activated.
  • The government is working to repatriate citizens stranded abroad due to regional flight cancellations.
  • Officials reassured the public that security and field response teams are fully ready to act if needed.

Monitoring Radiation and Supply Chains

Amid reports of Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, Bahrain said radiation levels are being continuously monitored and that rapid response systems are ready to safeguard public health and the environment. Iran’s Nuclear Regulatory Authority informed the IAEA that off-site radiation levels near Isfahan remain unchanged.

So far, international experts have reported minimal damage to Iranian nuclear infrastructure.

Essential Goods and Utilities Are Stable

Bahrain also confirmed that the Kingdom has:

  • Sufficient food and essential goods stocked in local markets.
  • Uninterrupted power generation, backed by emergency power supply plans.
  • A secure water reserve system to ensure continuous access.
  • Adequate stocks of medicine and fully prepared medical teams across the country.

Authorities reassured residents that the flow of goods into and out of Bahrain remains uninterrupted, and all critical services are stable.

As the region faces rising uncertainty, Bahrain is taking proactive steps to maintain national safety, keep essential services running, and provide peace of mind for its residents.
