Bahrain Waives Overstay Fines for Expired Visit Visas, Extends Validity for Some Visitors

Bahrain has announced new measures to support visitors whose travel plans were disrupted.
The Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs under the Ministry of Interior said people whose visit visas expired on February 28, 2026 will not be fined for overstaying.

The exemption applies for one month after the reopening of the country’s airspace, giving visitors more time to arrange their departure.
Fine Exemption for Visitors in Bahrain
The relief measure covers all types of visit visas for people currently in Bahrain whose permits expired due to the exceptional circumstances.
Authorities said the move aims to help visitors who were unable to leave the country on time because of travel disruptions.
Three-Month Extension for Visitors Abroad
The government also announced a separate measure for visitors who are currently outside Bahrain.
Visit visas that were valid until February 28, 2026 will be extended for an additional three months, provided the visa was issued before that date.
This applies to travellers who could not enter Bahrain due to the ongoing situation affecting regional travel.
Officials said the temporary measures are intended to ease the impact of the disruptions on travellers and ensure flexibility while the situation stabilizes.
