Fatima Al Muatawaj has become the first Bahraini woman to become a Bahraini international basketball referee in the history of the country.

She received her referee license after passing all requirements and tests by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).
Al Mutawaj will officiate matches as an international referee from 2023 until 2025.
The Chairman of the Bahrain Basketball Association (BBA) Waleed Al Alawi congratulated Al Mutawaj for her achievement and wished her success in her career.
Al Mutawaj has graduated with a degree in Health and Sports Science and she has a diploma in Sports Nutrition.
