The time of celebration has arrived for Bahrainis because Lujane Yacoub has been crowned Miss Universe Bahrain 2023.

In her acceptance speech, Yacoub shared her determination to challenge the misconceptions about women in Bahrain and the rest of the Middle East.
She said "Women (in Bahrain) are taught to thrive, embrace their strengths, and pursue their ambitions. They are the pearls of this country. My first goal as Miss Universe is to challenge this misconception."
Lujane Yacoub has previously participated in the Miss Universe Bahrain pageant.
Yacoub is an actress, model, dancer, and an advocate for women's empowerment.
The new Miss Universe Bahrain plans to pursue studying creative arts in London.
Advaita Shetty secured the first runner-up position, while Tuhina Carrol earned the second runner-up position.
The contestants were evaluated on criteria that included beauty, intelligence, and personality.
Yacoub will participate in the Miss Universe pageant, which is scheduled for Nov. 18, 2023.
