Qatar Creates and Naomi Campbell to Co-host the Emerge Initiative

Qatar Creates and EMERGE, a worldwide charitable initiative devoted to connecting the fashion and creative industries as a thrust for good, will co-host a fashion show and VIP dinner, which will be held under the patronage of Her Excellency Sheikha Al-Mayassa bint Hamad Al-Thani and co-hosted by EMERGE spokesperson and founder. International supermodel Naomi Campbell is the face of Fashion For Relief.

The charity gala and fashion show will be held on October 28th at Ceremonial Court in Education City to endorse Alternative Education and investment in young creative and business talent from emerging regions, with an emphasis on Africa, the Diaspora, and developing communities worldwide.

Fashion For Relief, founded in 2005 and inspired by Naomi Campbell's friendship with former South African President Nelson Mandela, brings together the international fashion, entertainment, design, and music industries to raise funds for multiple significant causes and humanitarian crises while boosting inclusivity and equal opportunities for all. Through their new initiative EMERGE, the event will bring the most notable names in the fashion and creative industries to Doha this year. This initiative will develop new apprenticeships, after-school programs, and university degrees in creative and alternative industries such as general education, fashion, technology, art, sustainable innovations, and agriculture.

EMERGE will take place in three major events, culminating in a grand Couture Show. While the Art Exhibit will feature leading and acclaimed young artists, such as Kehinde Wiley and Victor Ehikhamenor, the Fashion Exhibit will feature award-winning fashion designers from Africa, the Diaspora, and the Middle East, such as Thebe Magugu, Bianca Saunders, and Abdel El Tayeb. Following an opening discussion on the power of creativity in business between Naomi Campbell, Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa, and Kehinde Wiley, the creative and business event EMERGE Talk will bring together pioneering professionals to discuss the future of alternative industries.

The charity awards ceremony is a ticketed event that will include a fashion show where established designers will showcase their work, an auction, and a VIP dinner. In the past, celebrities such as Kate Moss, Jane Fonda, and Beyoncé, as well as models such as Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, and Winnie Harlow, have walked in the charity show. The event will feature award-winning designers from Africa, the Diaspora, and the Middle East.

The EMERGE gala is part of Qatar Creates' unprecedented schedule of high-profile events leading up to and following the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM.

Tickets for the event can be purchased through Qatar Creates. One Pass holders can avail of priority access and discounts through the Qatar Creates portal. For additional information on Qatar Creates and the One Pass, please visit www.qacreates.com
