Serious Penalties for Violators
Breaking the rule comes with steep consequences. Employers who violate the ban can face imprisonment of up to three months, fines between BD500 and BD1,000, or both.
Ministry Steps Up Awareness and Enforcement
The Ministry of Labour says it has fully prepared to implement the ban. Officials have conducted awareness workshops with safety officers and supervisors in the private sector, and have rolled out digital educational materials across social platforms to highlight the dangers of heat stress and midday exposure.
To ensure full compliance, the ministry has also set up a hotline (32265727) where the public can report any violations observed during the ban period.
A Necessary Summer Measure
This midday work ban is a vital part of Bahrain’s annual efforts to prioritize worker safety during peak summer months. If you're an employer, be sure to adjust your schedules accordingly. And if you’re out and about this summer and see someone working under the scorching sun, now you know who to call.
