Bahrain to Host Billie Jean King Cup Qualifiers

Bahrain is all set to host the 2023 Billie King Jean Cup Asia/Oceania Zone Group III from Wednesday, Oct. 18. to Saturday, Oct. 21 at the Bahrain Tennis Federation's headquarters in Isa Town.

The tournament will feature 14 national women's tennis teams from across Asia. 

The national teams are Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Bhutan, Brunei, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Macau, Maldives, Nepal, Vietnam, and Tajikistan. 

The teams will be competing for two qualifying berths for Group 2 in the 2024 competition.

There will be a tournament draw, which will divide the participating teams into four groups for the preliminary round. 

Matches will begin in a single round-robin after which the top teams will advance to the next stage. 

In the second stage, the teams will play for two qualifying cards, while the remaining teams will compete for their final best classification. 

Other tournaments that will be taking place at the tennis federation are the 2023 Davis Cup and three ITF junior competitions.
