According to the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, the Bahrain Metro project would span 109 kilometers across the country. Furthermore, a 35-year contract to design, construct, finance, administer, and maintain the Bahrain Metro's first phase included the private sector in the process of developing the execution strategy.

The project's first phase, which will include 20 stations and a length of 29 kilometers, has started in Bahrain's most important locations. It covers Salmaniya, Adhari, Muharraq, Seef District, King Faisal Highway, Juffair, Diplomatic Area, and Isa Town.

The Bahrain Metro project, which aims to provide a new sustainable mode of mass transportation that contributes to providing various modes of transportation, reducing traffic jams, and maintaining the ecosystem by providing self-driving electric trains, was confirmed by the ministry in its response to a parliamentary question put forth by representative Munir Ibrahim Sorour.
