Bahrain Arrests Three People for Forming Terrorist Cell

Bahrain's Ministry of Interior has confirmed the arrest of three individuals accused of establishing a terrorist cell affiliated with Lebanon’s Iran-backed Hezbollah. The suspects were reportedly involved in actions aimed at undermining the nation's security and sovereignty.

According to the ministry, the suspects coordinated with terrorist elements abroad and engaged in espionage activities. Their actions were said to be intended to incite fear and panic among Bahrain’s citizens and residents, posing serious threats to the country’s safety.

Regional Solidarity with Bahrain

The UAE has extended its unequivocal support to Bahrain in the wake of the arrests. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, expressed full solidarity with Bahrain, commending the country's efforts to protect its security and sovereignty. He also lauded Bahraini security authorities for their efficiency in thwarting the alleged plot and identifying those involved.

Details of the Arrested Individuals

The suspects have been identified as Ahmed Ahmed Hussain Madan, 24, Hassan Abdulameer Ashoor, 22, and Muntadhar Abdulmohsen Ali Madan, 29. The Ministry stated that their confessions revealed training sessions involving Hezbollah members in Lebanon.

During these sessions, the suspects reportedly learned advanced weapons usage and transmitted sensitive information, including images and details concerning the impact of recent Iranian attacks on Bahrain. Officials also alleged that funds collected under the pretense of charity were redirected for financing Hezbollah’s operations.

Continued Crackdowns in the Region

Bahrain’s recent arrest follows an escalation in security measures against Iran-aligned activities. Last week, the country charged 14 individuals with espionage on behalf of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Neighboring nations, including Kuwait, Qatar, and the UAE, have also apprehended individuals suspected of affiliations with Hezbollah or the IRGC in recent weeks.

The arrests highlight heightened vigilance across the Gulf region amid concerns over external threats and efforts to bolster national security.
