KFCA Announces Four New e-Payment Services on King Fahd Causeway

In an effort to make it easier for people to travel between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia's major bridges on both sides, the King Fahd Causeway Authority (KFCA) has launched four e-payment services.

The King Fahd Causeway, a crucial route connecting Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, had 3.9 million cars transit it in 2021.

As a result of the e-services, drivers on the King Fahd Causeway won't have to stop anymore and may use the KFCA's Jesr app to pass through the e-gates as they make cash payments. The first service basically consists of Barq technology, which uses the vehicle's license plate number to automatically identify the vehicle. This shows that no human interference is necessary for the car to pass.

According to information provided by the KFCA, one vehicle crosses the Causeway between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia every 20 minutes.

With so many vehicles utilizing the causeway, digital or online services make the crossing a great deal easier and more efficient since visitors won't have to stop but instead use the online services. Additionally, the KFCA stated that it provides free WiFi on the Saudi side.
