Bahrain Unveils East Hidd's First Government School Plans

The Ministry of Works has announced plans to build East Hidd’s very first public school, a development aimed at supporting the area’s fast-growing population and modern lifestyle.

This upcoming primary school for boys is expected to enhance education options for local families. The school will have 40 classrooms, including one specially designed for students with special needs.

It will also include science labs, home economics rooms, art studios, computer labs, a technical workshop, a talent development lab, and a spacious library, offering a modern learning experience.

The school’s design emphasizes both academics and extracurricular activities. It will have indoor facilities like a gym, multi-sport courts, and outdoor courts for handball, basketball, and volleyball.

A standout feature is the rooftop football field, which will make great use of the space and provide students with a unique place to play. According to the tender documents, construction will take about two years.

Given the project’s advanced technical demands, including a dedicated power substation, water tank rooms, and complex electromechanical systems, the Ministry is only allowing bids from contractors with a valid Grade “AA” building license, ensuring the school meets top-quality standards.
