Karim Benzema Announces His Retirement from International Football

The French National Team and Real Madrid striker, Karim Benzema, announced his retirement from international football.

The French star wrote a farewell message to the fans through his official account on Instagram, saying, "I made every effort, and made some mistakes until I reached where I am today, and I am proud of that.

Karim Benzema, who missed the 2022 World Cup in Qatar due to injury, missed the 2018 World Cup due to problems with the French Federation and coach Didier Deschamps.

Benzema missed Euro 2020 and 2016 as well, and the last major tournament he participated in with France was the 2014 World Cup.

It is worth noting that Karim Benzema played in all age categories of the French national team until he reached the first team in 2007, and he played for the French national team in 97 matches, during which he scored 37 goals.
