Sheikh Al Tanweer Bahraini Film Wins Best Director at Russian Festival

The "Sheikh Al Tanweer" (Sheikh of Enlightenment) clinches the Best Director award at HALO International Film Festival (HIFF), held in Saint Petersburg, Russia. 

The award was granted to the movie director, Eva Daoud. 

The film, produced by the Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Center for Culture & Research, depicts places as memories of nations, reflecting the center's vision that there are no homes that are about to fall, but rather homes whose people stopped loving them.

"Sheikh Al Tanweer" summarizes two decades of the center's career and its subsidiary houses.

The documentary film presents the creativity of the center as a non-profit organization that worked to revive old homes and tried to preserve the names of their original owners.

The film has won several awards in other festivals, including the Best Film Award in the Documentary Film Competition in the second edition of the Kuwait Film Festival.
