Annual Heritage Festival to Kick Off at Souq Al Baraha on April 5th

The 29th edition of the annual Heritage Festival will kick off on Wednesday, April 5th, at the Souq Al Baraha in Diyar Al-Muharraq.

The festival will run until Saturday, April 8th. It will be open to the public from 09:00 pm to midnight.

The festival, organized by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), comes under the auspices of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

This year's edition will celebrate the Bahraini Ramadan customs to showcase the authentic traditions formed by the local community for the holy month.

BACA seeks to highlight Ramadan customs, such as Gerga'oon, which takes place in mid-Ramadan, family gatherings, El Misaharaty (Ramadan drummer), Iftar cannon, and popular food.

It will include various programs like handicrafts, educational workshops, art exhibitions, musical performances by folklore bands, face painting, traditional games, and tasting experiences of many Ramadan foods.
