Pope Leo XIV welcomed Bahrain’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to the Vatican on Monday. The two sides discussed how to level up their already solid relations.

According to the Holy See Press Office, the talks highlighted Bahrain’s push for interfaith dialogue and peaceful coexistence. Both leaders agreed it’s something worth strengthening.

Common Ground on Peace

The meeting didn’t just stick to formalities. They also touched on pressing global issues — including ending wars in the Middle East and pushing for peace among nations.

A Continuation of Ties

This isn’t the first Vatican–Bahrain linkup. Back in November 2022, the late Pope Francis visited Bahrain to highlight interreligious dialogue, a theme still very much on the table today.
