Qatar 2022 is the Healthiest and Most Eco-friendly World Cup

Everyone can see the results of Qatar's determination to organize and manage the first-ever FIFA World Cup that was environmentally friendly.

FIFA was among the first organizations to recognize that combating climate change is among the most urgent issues of our day and that everyone must take immediate, sustainable action because it has a significant impact on the planet's inhabitants' health, way of life, and future.

In this context, FIFA has declared that the 2022 World Cup would be the first ever to be "carbon neutral." Following that declaration, the host nation, Qatar, "promised to stage a 100% carbon-free World Cup."

The tournament's emissions have been reduced by the use of a wide range of measures. The efforts include low-emission transportation, energy-efficient stadiums, green building certification in design, construction, and operations, as well as sustainable waste management techniques.

Climate specialists and researchers have looked at Qatar's "carbon neutrality," which has made numerous significant measures in this regard. The actions taken are the first of their kind in the world and include creating the largest herb garden in the world, developing environmentally friendly hotels and stadiums, planting trees, regreening highways, and powering tournament stadiums with solar energy, among other things.

Through its official Twitter account, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change recently provided some information regarding sustainability during the World Cup.

According to FIFA, all World Cup stadiums have earned the Global Sustainability Assessment System (GSAS) designation and have installed energy-efficient thermal insulation and ventilation systems.

The playground trees are watered with water produced by the air conditioning operations. According to the ministry, 850,000 square meters of green space have been developed.

In order to reduce emissions from private vehicles during the tournament, the ministry emphasized that stadiums were connected to public transportation and that energy-saving lamps with a third of the consumption of standard lamps were used to light the stadiums.

Additionally, recycled water is used to wash the area around the stadiums to reduce dust and dirt.

The World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) have also worked together with Qatar on a joint project to present a "Healthy 2022 World Cup," which protects the health of participants, spectators, and organizers and promotes the culture of healthy sports.

The project's goal is to make sure that the competition is safe and secure and that the strategies utilized and the lessons discovered will be applied to future massive athletic events. According to a recent World Health Organization research, Qatar 2022 is also about developing a successful and long-lasting model that encourages the integration of health, security, and well-being in future sporting events.

The project's main goals are to improve health security, ensure the safety of meetings and events, and support and encourage people to live healthy lifestyles by stopping smoking and eating a nutritious diet.

Therefore, the environment is preserved while millions of people from other cultures, races, and religions come together in peace, unity, love, and tolerance to watch the games and cheer for their teams.

As people get to know one another, they learn about one another's traditions and customs that are different from those to which they have been used throughout their lives. The World Cup is a global event, and Qatar was responsible for making it such. The fact that Qatar is known as a nation with significant influence and notable accomplishments is not by accident.
