1,200 Jobs Incoming: Premium Airline beOnd Eyes Bahrain Launch

Big aviation news for Bahrain — and yes, it comes with jobs.

Premium leisure airline beOnd has signed a deal to explore launching a Bahrain-based airline, a move expected to create more than 1,200 direct high-skilled jobs across the GCC.

Up to 10 Aircraft Based in Bahrain

The plan? Base and operate up to 10 aircraft in Bahrain by 2030, connecting Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and North America.

Over its first five years, the airline projects it could contribute between $1.2 and $1.5 billion to Bahrain’s GDP. Beyond the 1,200 direct roles, the project is expected to support more than 6,000 indirect jobs in tourism, hospitality, logistics, and related sectors.

A Boost for Bahrain’s Aviation Vision

The agreement aligns with Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, focusing on economic diversification, private-sector growth, and job creation for both nationals and foreign workers.

The airline also plans to roll out structured training programmes for pilots, cabin crew, engineers, and ground staff — alongside building simulator and maintenance facilities. The goal is to position Bahrain as a hub for advanced aviation skills.

AI, Luxury Travel, and Regional Expansion

beOnd says it will integrate AI across operations, maintenance, revenue management, distribution, and passenger experience.

The premium aviation market has been expanding rapidly across the Gulf, especially in the UAE, driven by strong demand from high-net-worth travelers.

In December 2025, beOnd also began the process of launching an airline and securing an Air Operator Certificate in Saudi Arabia — showing this is part of a wider regional strategy.

Bahrain’s Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, Dr Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, welcomed the move, saying he looks forward to seeing beOnd aircraft operating under a Bahraini AOC.

Bottom line: Bahrain could soon be home to a new premium airline — and a serious wave of aviation jobs.
