Ministry of Education Approves Revised Ramadan School Hours

The Ministry of Education approved the revised school hours for all public and private schools during the month of Ramadan.

The school day will start at 8 a.m. and end at 12:25 p.m. for primary schools and primary religious institutions. The evening period for vocational education will begin at 1:30 p.m. and end at 5:10 p.m.

Although, there were reports that remote learning was not allowed during Ramadan, the ministry declared these reports 'false'.  The ministry has allowed schools the option to switch to remote learning during the Holy Month.

The public sector has also changed its hours for Ramadan, so employees have to work only six hours a day and 36 hours a week. The country's ministries, authorities, and public institutions have set their working hours from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and whoever works beyond the new set hours, will be compensated for overtime, according to the Civil Service policy.
