Who is the First Bahraini Female Athlete to Finish the UTMB Race?

Fatema Hussain recently became the first Bahraini and GCC female athlete to complete the most prestigious ultra trail running race, the UTMB.

The UTMB race involves running 172 kilometers, which starts in France and takes you to Italy and Switzerland, then back to France.

During the race, the runners circle the Mount Blanc Massif and the race involves 10,000 meters of elevation gain!

Fatema Hussain is a chemical engineer from Bahrain and an ultra-endurance athlete. She has participated in many races and the UTMB was her latest feat. 

With this achievement, Hussain has become an inspiration to many female athletes in Bahrain and across the GCC!
