WHO Recognizes 5 Bahrain-Based Universities for Promoting Wellness

Five pioneering Bahrain-based universities have been recognized as "health-promoting universities" by the World Health Organization (WHO).

These universities are: Ahlia University, Arabian Gulf University, Kingdom University, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland – Medical University of Bahrain, and the University of Technology Bahrain.

The universities were selected based on their innovative wellness programs and unwavering commitment to health education.

This recognition reflects Bahrain's commitment to promoting health and wellness, and its dedication to providing exceptional healthcare education and training to its citizens and the world. It is also a testament to the country's vision and leadership in promoting health and well-being.

The WHO healthy universities program recognizes that higher education institutions play a crucial role in promoting sustainable development and protecting the health and well-being of students, staff, as well as the wider community.
