Bahrain to Test New Wireless Emergency Alert System for Safer Communities

Bahrain is rolling out a phased pilot of a wireless emergency alert system designed to keep residents informed during crises, the Minister of Interior announced on January 15.

Clear Alerts for Every Emergency

The system will send timely alerts before, during, and after emergencies, helping citizens and residents stay updated quickly and effectively. Whether it’s a natural disaster, accident, or other critical situation, the alerts aim to provide clear, actionable information to everyone in affected areas.

Phased Testing in Select Areas

The new system will be tested in stages, starting in selected emergency zones. Officials are following international best practices in civil protection to ensure the service is ready and reliable.

Strengthening Public Safety

The initiative comes after a Civil Defence Council meeting focused on improving emergency readiness and coordination among government agencies. Once fully operational, the wireless alert system is expected to significantly enhance public safety and improve communication during critical events.
