Bahrain Cracks Down on Fake Citizenship Applications

In a decisive move to uphold the integrity of Bahraini citizenship, the Nationality, Passports, and Residence Affairs (NPRA) has launched a thorough review of citizenship applications dating back to 2010. This initiative, spearheaded by His Excellency the Minister of Interior, aims to identify cases where passports were unlawfully obtained through incorrect information or forged documents.

A specialized committee has been formed to meticulously verify the authenticity of data and documents supporting these applications. The government’s rigorous approach highlights its commitment to maintaining the sanctity and honor of Bahraini citizenship, ensuring it is granted only to those meeting the legal criteria.

This initiative not only aims to rectify any irregularities but also enhances the transparency and credibility of Bahrain’s nationality system, safeguarding the rights and privileges of its citizens.
