Bahrain Became the Top Travel Destination for Saudi Tourists in 2023

Bahrain ranked as the top travel destination amongst tourists from Saudi Arabia for the first half of 2023 in the statistics from the country's Ministry of Tourism.

According to the statistics, 1.43 million tourists from Saud Arabia travelled to Bahrain in the first half of 2023. 

Other GCC Destinations

The statistics for other GCC countries were:

• Kuwait: 1.08 million tourists
• UAE: 785,000 tourists

• Qatar: 542,000 tourists
• Oman: 26,000 tourists

Why is Bahrain the Top Travel Destination?

Bahrain is the top travel destination amongst Saudi tourists because of KSA's proximity to Bahrain, therefore Saudi tourists can travel to Bahrain for both long holidays and short breaks.

Tourists also love travelling to Bahrain because of its top-notch beach resorts, cultural landmarks,  and all-year-round sunny weather. 

Bahrain also hosts the first race of the Formula 1 Season, the Bahrain Grand Prix, which might be one of the reasons why a high number of Saudi tourists travelled to the Kingdom in the first half of 2023.
